whew...playlist for 4/10/08

So, the debut of "The City in the Morning" was more of a slow creep than a bang. I have a cold, and due to station difficulties (yes, again...), I didn't get started until 10 am. We made the most of our hour, yes we did, but after getting on air, I discovered that the computer wasn't plugged into the DJ mixer, a problem that I had to fix over a few bin cuts played off the CD player. Not that I mind playing bin cuts, and it's required of us (three per hour, I believe). I'm just usually more careful with the bin cuts I pick. This time, I grabbed for whatever I was familiar with.

I didn't talk much, I didn't even announce the last five songs or so. Jason, from "Does Your Hometown Really Care" came in, was ready to go, and it was just about eleven. By the way, "Does Your Hometown Really Care" is every Thursday from 11 - 3 pm, and it's awesome. It may be my favorite show on WRCT. Jason plays a (mostly) relaxing mix of jazz, rock, a bit of country, folk, and a few oddball choices here and there. It's intimidating to lead into a show that is, at this point, effortlessly good, but I guess I'm going to try. For all those listening out there, please, if I drive you away from 88.3, come back at eleven for "Does Your Hometown Really Care?" because Jason deserves your attention.

Anyway, the playlist:
1. Blank Tapes - "In the Light" Daydreams
2. White Williams - "Headlines" Smoke
3. Blank Tapes - "This is What's Inside" Daydreams
